Last updated: 28 August 2026.
The Department of Posts has activated Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-II, July 2026 on its official portal. The most important update for candidates is the confirmed application timetable: One-Time Registration begins on 31 August 2026, while the actual application and fee-payment window runs from 2 September to 21 September 2026, up to 5:00 PM.
This recruitment covers GDS roles such as Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak. Candidates should check the official Vacant Posts and Annexures sections for the current circle/division-wise vacancy position rather than relying on unofficial all-India estimates.

Who Should Check Eligibility?
India Post GDS engagement is generally aimed at Class 10-qualified candidates who satisfy the prescribed local-language, age and other conditions. The official portal requires candidates to enter SSC marks/grades accurately and exercise division/post preferences based on eligibility.
Because circle-wise vacancies and local-language requirements vary, candidates should not submit preferences until they have reviewed the official vacancy list for their chosen division.

- When applications open on 2 September, log in using your registration details.
- Select the eligible circle/division and exercise post preferences carefully.
